• SOME FLIERS LIKE TO BUILD THEIR OWN TIMERS FROM THE TOY MECHANISMS, LIKE WE SELL. THIS USUALLY REQUIRES A HARD TO FIND LEFT HAND THREAD SCROLL. WE HAVE ADDED TWO TYPES OF THESE TO OUR OFFERINGS. YOU CAN SEE THEM HERE.

USING AN RDT WITH A TEXAS  TIMER
DT VIA RADIO CONTROL IS PERMITTED BY CURRENT FREE FLIGHT RULES.  THIS CAN BE A USEFUL TOOL IF YOUR PLANE IS DRIFTING INTO AN AREA OF UNFAVORABLE RETRIEVAL. INTEGRATION OF THE RDT TOOL WITH YOUR PRIMARY FLIGHT TIMER CAN BE EASY AND STRAIGHT FORWARD. ONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS HAS ALLOWED US TO SHOW YOU THE DETAILS OF HIS INSTALLATION. TEXAS TIMERS - WHO ARE WE?

The Texas Timer product line was developed to meet the needs of free flight today.  As new requirements emerge, we strive to fulfill them, either through design enhancements of current products or development of new ones.  We always welcome your suggestions.

The heart of any timer is the clock mechanism used to drive it. All Texas Timers (except the MICRO I) use the same light-weight, but all metal gear mechanism.  Springs and pawls are selected to achieve optimum performance and torque for each application. As a modeler, you will appreciate the reliability, accuracy, and durability of all our products, in addition to their well thought-out design.

The MICRO I uses a plastic clock mechanism that was built for us to our specifications by a firm we selected after a three year search and test program.

All products use the exclusive Texas Stoplock that actually latches the trip wire in the off position, yet ensures a very positive start action.  Instructions for installation, use and maintenance are included with every Texas Timer product.

We understand that whether you sport fly or are engaged in serious competition, the timer is a key element in your enjoyment and success.  It should perform tirelessly and flawlessly for you, flight after flight.  Texas Timers are designed, tested, and assembled to meet these requirements.
